AIDET and Beyond

Communication is crucial when positively impacting every patient’s care experience. SMS Healthcare partners with our customers to deliver AIDET training at each healthcare facility.

The Studer Group created AIDET as the standard in training for Patient Communication. AIDET is not only used by our care team but also by nurses, physicians, technicians, food service and administrators. Pictured to the right are the basics of AIDET training.

Patient Experience Ambassadors

During a hospital stay, patients often have questions or concerns about their care and aspects of their experience—our specialized Patient Experience Ambassadors aid in ensuring the best possible experience for our valued guests and patients.

Our Patient Experience Ambassadors, also known as Patient Advocates or Patient Representatives, visits patient rooms every day. When they do, they introduce themselves, check on how the hospital experience is going, perform a quick room inspection, and ask if there is anything they can do to improve their stay. We ensure we deliver the highest quality services and exceed the patient’s expectations while eliminating any potential problems or concerns. Furthermore, it allows our management team the chance to observe employees in action and prevent potential service issues immediately, creating the best opportunity for great HCAHPS Survey Scores.
